Welcome back!

Yep! So after a LONG winter nap, I'm ready for another year of fashion, fun and food (I've made nearly 5 batches of Rice Krispy Treats and am SOOO paying for it)! To quickly catch up, as I have a TON of pattern making homework to do, I've made broaches and pillows (soon to be up on my shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/QuirkyCouture), sketched designs for Skintimates "Be Ready For Everything" contest (http://www.skintimatestudios.com/), and got the cartilage in my ear pierced!! Yay pretty pretty pain!!

Since I've been putting MUCH more effort into my Etsy shop (a wonderful creative online craft shop where artists display their excellent-ness), I'm considering asking SLC watchers to switch to my new QuirkyCouture Blog (soon be be uploaded in a few days).
I look forward to writing for you guys soon so enjoy the warmer weather!!!!! >'.'<

Akira Fashion Show Tonight!

So I took a break from Blogging to spend sometime with family over the Holidays, but now that I'm back, I'm headed to the Akira Fashion Show Today at 6pm!! I love finding little events like this to spruce up my Fashion life (which undeniably has been lacking). It's 25 dollars and only a few hours long. I think I'll manage and maybe even take pics if it's allowed. :)

I bought these adorable black wedge heeled boots (with short fake fur at the cuff) over the break and I thought that today would be a great day to try them out. I took one step outside and nearly busted my butt on the ice that froze all over the cement after it rained last night. I walked in the street nearly 3 blocks this morning on my way to the bus stop! lol

So some tips for Chicago winter fashion: "skip the cute and go for the snow boot!" ;)

Until next time!

Volley Ball Game on the 21st

For those of you who are interested, The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago will be hosting a volleyball game on the 21st of this month. It will be held on a nearby beach and all students are strongly encouraged to come! Take advantage of a change to introduce yourself to your peers and enjoy a little sun and sand in the mean time. Plus who can't resist a little friendly beatdown (I meant competition, I swear).

For details, drop me a email (or comment) with your email so I can send you details. Or skip the middle step and follow this blog to receive updates on upcoming events on and off campus.

See you guys there! :)

Open Mic Night on Campus

Yesterday August 12th, students from all majors enjoyed singing, poetry readings and instrumental songs written and preformed by none other then the students themselves. As their peer, it was really nice to see them openly express their talents to friends who may not have known otherwise. I admit I sang a song (not really well) but was glad to be introduced to 2 new people that may be great contacts later down the line (and may even teach me how to sing). ::laughs::

Hope to see you guys at the next open mic!
